Maybe we should look to try and find a way to balance the mazda and DP for Le Mans later in the year for a P2 class. So we can have a traditional 4 class Le Mans.

Well it would be three classes wouldn't it but yeah that's a good idea. I know it's always been two classes in the TEC but a third class would be great, especially now we have bigger lobbies, you could have 6 or 7 of each class per lobby

I honestly prefer to keep it to 2 classes. It was much more fun having more competition, rather then just 6 cars that eventually spread out.

theres not actual point for the DP because
1) its a DAYTONA prototype
2) its HUGLEY hard to balance the [Censored]
3) its not like any LM car

Hard but not impossible. I can get them lapping quite close on times. Just the cars have different strenghts. Think Bentley GT vs Z4 battle, one fast, one turns.

Re: MSA TORA Sebring 12H - General Discussion

Post by BIGBEN0913 on Sat 6 Feb 2016 - 17:06

After a lot of discussion among the staff, we have decided that we are going to be running the DP prototype in its own class.  That means 3 Classes in total for this round only.  Since the DP's do not tend to "cross the pond" in real life we thought they should not in our championship either.

We will announce the DP's build when we announce the rest of the build in the coming days.  The pace will slot right between the LMP's and GT's just like a true LMP2 class.  The "same team name" rule will still apply for this class so any team is welcome to jump in.

However, because we are another class that does not mean that we will be adding another lobby.  Depending on how many teams are in each class, we will be balancing the lobbies to a maximum of 21 drivers per lobby.  That could mean we have lobby splits basically any combination.

Nice to let everyone know with 4 weeks to go.

Focus on what you've got already, LMP1 and GT need to be 100% sorted.

quick thing ben, it states there in Bold that this "Should not in our Championship either" so why is it making a 1 off Appearance if it doesnt in Real Life?

not trying to say its a bad idea, i just think if were gonna add the DP it should be a separate Championship and done as a Trail and Error Kind of thing, dont do this as a Pitlane, try as something else if it goes well go for it. but not in this championship if you wanna keep the Viewers up on Twitch and the Community we have going.

Same could be said for running WEC Prototypes at Daytona and Sebring...

It would maybe make sense if this series ran a 6 hours of the Glen and a Petit Le mans and it showed up there as well as the 12 hours. It might be better because those are races it's actually competes in. Having show up for 1 race seems a bit pointless

I kind of Agree with Sam here,

If we're doing a 10 point bonus for staying in the same car from race to race (except during the switches from LMP to TCC), then it ruins it.

Being honest, I was looking at an LMP drive for Sebring or Monza, just for shts and gigs.

However, having 3 different classes could add a lot of excitement to the race , just by having that other variable

Now Roscoe, don't try to be a c**t about someone else's language skills when you use 'loose' rather than 'lose' and put an apostrophe in 'viewers'. I'd rather know someone who may not be the best wordsmith over a myopic toxin like you.

Regardless, Solar's point stands and I agree with it and if you have issues with it, about him, or me, take it up with me in a PM.
