As mentioned elsewhere, the entries are not automatic and immediate, and are processed approx once a day.

What an idiot. On the outlap I took my hand off the controller to unmute my mic so I could ask a noisy player to please mute his, and when I grabbed it again I accidentally changed down twice and had to run qualy with 24% trans damage.

Not that I would have qualified anyway, but hey ho.

You will get a game invite and a party invite tonight around 6:45pm EST for your qualifying session. The host will explain all the rules for qualifying so that everyone is clear on what to do and answer questions drivers may have.

Sign in closes 24 hrs before a session is set to begin, so yes, unfortunately you will not be included in qualifying tonight, and subsequently out of race 1.

You did register, but you did not sign in. On the registration page, it explicitly says "You must sign in for each race". This screen also gives a choice as to which qualifying session you want to run in.

So the answer is the same.

Would it be at all possible to treat CAR Lightning's connection issues as a lagout rather than a DNS? I understand why a complete rerun is unrealistic but I think given that he had qualified A Lobby and tried/was ready to race on raceday but couldnt due to connection issues, his circumstance is very similar to ForceOne's or M Rossi's. He should at least get points for last place A lobby rather than a complete 0. I know people might argue that they wouldn't do this for another driver but when an invite to a competition to get an actual job is on the line and someone was completely dominating in the way Lightning was, and on top of this Lightning has proven how good a driver he is based on his Forza RC performance, chances are he wasn't winning by luck he was winning because of skill. All of this being said, I personally think it would make sense to make a small exception to a rule and treat his connection failure as a lagout and give him some points rather than 0, so his chances are not completely ruined even though his points standings would still suffer a lot as we enter the final round. That is just my opinion on the subject and I hope somebody takes it into consideration, however the final decision is not mkne to make.

Re: CJWR 570 Challenge - General Discussion

So that this is perfectly clear, the Rule 14.4 specifically states that if a driver doesn't start a race, they will receive zero points. This is the case with Lightning- As frustrating as the situation is, that is in fact the rule, and it has been applied as such.

A DNF (lagout) is not the same thing as a DNS. One driver started the race, the other didn't. This is why a driver that lagged out gets placed at the back of the field rather than zero points.

Lightning was the only person who was unable to connect to either race session. 29 other drivers from around the world were able to do so. Even M Rossi and ForceOne, who lagged out, were able to restart their consoles and reconnect to the lobby. Just because the person who would've likely won was not able to participate does not warrant the races to be re-run. The appropriate saying here is, "This is why the races are run".

That being said, there will not be an exception to Rule 14.4. It does not matter who you are, or fast you are- The rules apply to everyone the exact same way. As soon as you make a personal exception to the rules, they lose all integrity. If this had happened to anyone else, no one would even be talking about re-running the races.

Re: CJWR 570 Challenge - General Discussion

Post by BDR Beast on Fri 25 Aug 2017 - 3:38

Okay, I understand. Thank you Diablo I really appreciate that you took the time to explain this.

I just thought that the "race start" could possibly be redefined since they qualified a few days prior and Lightning was there for that.

That being said, I see how immoral it would be if TORA made an exception to that rule for one driver when an exception has never been made for that rule, and wouldn't have been made for any other driver, because it gives an unfair advantage to that driver.

Once again, I appreciate that you took the time to explain this and I understand why the final ruling is as it is.
