The Steve Colgate Award will stand on its own this time, as races 1 and 2 will see straight-up grids.

For the time being, yes. Still doing a formation lap, unless it proves to be problematic. One benefit is it would allow all to make sure they can see everyone else on the grid before launching off into turn 1 at race pace.

FYI: from the stream perspective the formation lap helps. as the race jumps directly to the start. no grid walk and we dont get the 3,2,1 countdown like the drivers do...catches me off guard every time.

The Ability for the Host to set the GRID and/or a Rolling Start would be way better for me as I never get a good start with someone telling us what Time to Start.
I have a difficult time seeing the Clock as it counts down.

Or even a Standing Start with the computer counting down.

We are on Forza 7 already and I would think Turn 10 would have everything sorted out by now.

Quick question, are we using game chat or party chat for this?

Due to some issues with game chat of not everyone being able to hear each other, the norm is to use the xbox party chat function, as in all other series at TORA.

Game Chat should work better I would think. Wink
Will the Lobby Hosts be posted before the races?
Looks like there may be 3 Lobbies in the American Race

Game chat is better than Forza 5 and 6 but still not perfect. I haven't raced on Tora for a long time so just wanted to double check. Looks like three lobbies for EU race as well, Brands Hatch isn't my best track so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in lobby three for this first race Smile

Apologies to everyone in my lobby tonight. Normally I dont have issues with lag. I will do a hard reset before next weeks race and hope it helps.

Other than that, was some good racing tonight.

For my first real online race experience it was really enjoyable tonight.

I certainly hope to be more competitive next week, as this week was just getting familiar with the process, the cars, and taking it all in to just experience it for what it was.

Looking forward to next week.

This will probably affect the EU drivers more the US guys.
The Forza 7 patch that was supposed to come out Tuesday is delayed until Thursday, for us guys in the UK this'll unlock round about 6pm BST.  Might be an idea to make sure you get on early and get the game updated before race time.

As it says in the Hot Hatch Challenge Cars and Build Requirements Thread:

TORA reserves the right to adjust these rules for the balance of performance.

The first two rounds will be reviewed for possible Balance of Performance adjustments. Any adjustments will be announced by Monday the 16th.

Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion

Post by BG Cowboy on Thu 12 Apr 2018 - 22:20

I really enjoyed racing again tonight but did feel a bit out of my depth in A Lobby after just a couple of weeks back.

Bit unexpected of Forza to dump us all out of Race 2 about 4 laps in but it was a slight relief when I realised it wasn't just me lagging out Laughing

It was also good to see how the different cars performed too - seems like the Fords can carry all of the corner speed but run out of puff on straights, the Mini is a beast out of slow speed corners, the Astra is ok across the board and the Megane & Veloster are slightly better all around (perhaps they have more build choices?).

The downside of PC is that I very rarely get to see the end race leaderboard but the flip side is I seem to be able to save replays without issue so if anyone needs them, then the 3 Silverstone races are all shared as "TORA Hot Hatch Race [4/5/6]" as the races at Brands Hatch were 1/2/3.

For most everyone, B Lobby was full of hard racing and great banter. I had fun most of the time and was frustrated at times, but the fun far outweighed the frustrations.

Dont think there is any adjustments needed. Meganes just seem op because the fastest drivers driving em. I saw TX3 Billysoo pulling 61.4 in focus at silverstone, and the track is one of the more speed oriented one. Drivers have also option to change the car once per season if they think they are suffering because of their choice.
