Can't share the tune as it's Marty's work not mine. Will try to share a lap again if I get the time over the next few days though

Thank you HaydieT - The speeds you're getting in 4th gear seem out of range for my tune, but I was able to shave off another tenth or more by seeing your line. Really appreciate the help.

I'm just using the stock gearbox and stock power so if it's different for you then that's kinda weird.

I have no idea whats being used in the tune I have loaded up as I just use what other people have made available. I just haven't been able to devote time to the whole tuning aspect.  Although I could probably save time if I did do my own tunes, as I currently find myself fishing for the best tune every week. Then as I get more familiar with the track and my times get better, I find myself fishing again for a possibly better tune to accommodate my improvements.

Case and point - I just seen a new tune "bubz6" from HCR Dandy. So I'm going to try that one out this evening and see how I like it. I was using bubz5 previously so it's possibly similar.

Kudos and a big Thank You to HCR Dandy for putting quality tunes out there!  I'd be totally lost without them.

*EDIT* - Just ran a 43.2 in the Veloster tonight and I'm very happy with that at this point. I'm not saying I'll be able to pull one that low in Qualifying Thursday but just knowing I can do it is gratifying.  Thanks to everyone for the help.

I finally hit a 1:02.986 with HCR Dandy's tune in the Veloster with my TMX Wheel.
I probably won't get that in qualifying, but happy I can do it.
I posted up my replay if anyone want's to view it.
Too bad Turn 10 can't show the lap times for each lap like they used to in forza 4.

I'm using manual trans only to try to keep the engine and trans from getting damage.

Hey bud you should use manual w/ clutch, you'll pick up close to a second in time. You are killing yourself running only manual in these cars

I think I am taking the big right sweeper wrong. I'm close to getting the right lines if anyone has a video of their lap with a proper line through there, particularly in the focus, that would be much appreciated Smile

Managed to trim the Astra down to a mid-1:02 but it's going to be a bit of a struggle to go much faster.
Really not looking forward to going 2 wide through the last corner as the Astra is just about staying on the tarmac on its own.

^ 2 wide in the last turn at this track is suicidal at best, homicidal more often than not, and when goes really bad, can be the Forza equivalent of a terrorist attack as there may be no survivors.

I'm going to try "Manual/Clutch" in Qualifying mode for 5 laps to see what I get. In the race, I'll run Manual only.

Just recorded laps for Focus and Hyundai. Got to go to work but will but them up tonight when I get home.

Also made my own tune for the Hyundai and shared that.

Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Lap Times

Post by BlahBlahBlah907 on Wed 2 May 2018 - 16:35

I was able to run a 1:02.6 last night in the Veloster which was about 3 ticks better than I expected.

I found this link from Car & Driver about Road Atlanta which helped me a little - Road Atlanta - Its covers the whole course and not all landmarks are accurate for Forza, but it got me through turns 2-4 better which was a big help.

I am finding myself consistently in the low 1:03's to high 1:02's now.  Still pushing for more...

I also want to add, I've only been in TORA for about a month now, and I am glad to see all the help and advice going around here on the forums. It's really enjoyable and the community has just been great. I'm finding myself improving every week. I just wish I didn't have to work so I could practice more. The NHL Playoffs & Baseball are getting in the way of practice laps a little bit too...

Note to all those in the Ford- Notice how quickly you can go through T3 (top of the hill with the tire walls).

The other cars on the grid CANNOT do that. If you're right behind someone, and they aren't in a Ford, give them a little extra space. A tap there is likely to send someone into a tire wall, and they won't be very happy with you; the Steward's Office won't take too kindly to that move, either.

Same with the bottom of the hill for the long right-hand sweeper. The Ford can get away with a small dab of brake then flat out. The other cars have to slow down a bit more and have to feather the throttle on, given they hit the right line. If you're right on someone's rear bumper, give them a little extra space.

I done some testing last week when I was eyeing up a car change.

Hock Short
Focus 1:08.2
Megane 1:08.4
Alfa 1:08.7

I'll run the Hyundai and get both tunes shared and laps up over the weekend

I have lots of work to do then. I'm only running a 1:13.1xx at Hock Short in the Alfa.

1:09.0xx

That's in the 2016 Honda Civic Razz

I've tried real hard to get a 1:08.9xx (3 extra laps) but it didn't happen. The car is complete garbage though.

I was going to ask the same thing.
"Forza clean" is to run all 4 wheels wide over the curbing out of turn 1 and thats normally the line I take.
So a quick post to say what is "TORA clean" would be appreciated, thanks.

Drive Clean. Drive Fast.

As I lay rubber down the street, I pray for traction I can keep.
But if I spin and begin to slide, please dear God protect my ride.
