He was on the throttel and brake at the same time so he must have got knocked out straight away for that to happen.

It will either be Luca Badoer (Last seen racing a Minardi 10 years ago...) or Marc Gene!

These are both Ferrari's test drivers, and apparantly Gene is at the track.

Scary stuff.

Why was the part airborne when it hit him? I have watched and rewatched the video, and I can't see another car, Barrichello's or otherwise, in front of him. So why did it bounce up like that? Weird.

And that picture of his injuries is just horrid, he looks totally out of it. I noticed that he went hard on the brakes and throttle together too, Richy, he must've been really dazed from the impact.

Hope he recovers from this, he's such a class act, would hate to lose him from the sport.

A light metal component traveling at 160mph will travel very far at high speed, no wonder it was bouncing.

Massa is now in an induced coma due to his operation. Hopefully things will be alright, but I'm very doubtful he'll be 100% by the end of the year let alone the first race. Perfect opportunity to go on a long holiday!!

I know I have made it clear in the past that I am not Lewis' biggest fan, but that was a brilliant drive. What a turnaround for that car!

Just how good is this season?

Most competitive ever!!!
Its fantastic but its even better for Jense because if the McLarens and Renaults can take points off Red Bull then all he has to do is brave it out and count the races down... oh yeah... AND DON'T DNF!!!

Hats off to Hammy, that was an outstanding drive.

That pic of Massa is nasty, so much for "a knock on the chin" eh?

Renault suspended from the next GP for basically releasing Alonso back onto the track with an unsafe car.

So...with Renault not getting to take part in Europe will we see Alonso 'on loan' to Ferrari for it? Wink

I was told last night that Jean Alesi was being lined up for the spare Ferrari seat, but as it was an XBL message, my mate never included source details. Anyone else heard this?
