Re: Timing Board
As Aero said, I had done testing and with the default tunes on the restricted, unrestricted Ford gt, and the Jag, and only running 5lap stints each, the restricted Ford Gt ran less than 0.5 seconds faster than the jag (1:53.285 compared to 1:53.650), while the unrestricted Gt ran a 1:51.008.

Re: Timing Board
well its a bit late to change it for this race (less than a week) so it may have to wait until the next race because at road america the car is going to walk away from everyone!

Re: Timing Board
Without a doubt! When I took those pictures of the Gulf livery GT, the unrestricted P.I. was nearly as fast as my dbr9 down the Mulsanne straight (though the downforce was at about 1/2 of the default)

"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”

Re: Timing Board
Just for reference, here's what i've pulled for the GT2 Jag & Ford GT @ Roam Am:
(default tunes)
Restricted:
Jag (R3-742): 2:02.211
Ford GT (R3-742): 2:02.709
Unrestricted:
Jag (R2-801): 1:57.398
Ford GT (R2-795): 1:59.7xx* (*=default gears top out at 170mph; tweeked the gears to mirror a production car's default race tranny gears and hit a 1:59.027, and hits 178mph going into brake zones on the straights)
..and thus far, my LeMans tune for my DBR9 has netted me with a 1:53.25x. im sure im leaving a little bit on the table

Re: Timing Board
Yet to test with the restricted gt on road america but did a quick handling run at catlunya and the speed difference wasnt as drastic as i though, and it turns a lot better now so i can live restricted, just gotta test at america
Re: Timing Board
.. i also tried the GT-R unrestricted with the 15% power handicap similar to the 2,4 and i doubt Chillz needs to do ANY form of tuning and use the Default for Road America.

Re: Timing Board
I'd be interested to see how big the gap is with the GT-R restricted and unrestricted w/power handicap. The handicap effectively means we only get a very small power increase over the restricted version.

Re: Timing Board
Currently in the 2:06s in the gt. after a couple hours of tuning, so looks like i gotta change car AGAIN
Re: Timing Board
You do NOT have to change. Look at me in the GT-R - the slowest in a straight line in GT1. Not whining about it, just realising, as you and others must, that the car list is INTENTIONALLY the way it is so that some cars are stronger than others on certain circuits. Take the pain on your weak ones, and make the most of your advantage on your strong ones.

Re: Timing Board
Yeah but its so slow now, at EVERY track, now instad of being fast and not turning, its slow and doesnt turn. im two seconds slower at least than slider was at nurby and at least 2 seconds slower at road america (both are my best track) and theyre both very different circuits, I tested every GT2 car and they are at least one second slower, the only one that comes close is the M3, which is one second slower.
