I did. That isn't hugely unusual but it all points to trying to balance real life figures with wind tunnel ones

Well i think its showing how much of Hamiltons late season pace last year was down to KERS and not a good car. Now that KERS is gone and there back to the chassis making the difference there struggling again.

Aparently McLaren is looking MUCH better on the long runs rather than 'qualy' simulations. So all is not lost!

What I meant was that they were going to take Campos' place, as Campos are unlikely to make the season too. And I'm sure Campos were getting Dallara's too.

Re: F1 Car Launch Thread

Post by racelegend MB1 on Thu 18 Feb 2010 - 17:44

USF1 are still around! trust me. they may miss the opener but they still plan on entering. as in brits link Stefan will buy (in a sense) the toyota cars. which are as i have said right from before christmas are fully developed and only require fine tuning to meet the latest rules and be competitive.

I may recall saying back on the old F1 pages on here that i predicted someone to buy out/unitlise the toyota package. Very Happy oh and ofcourse one of the only ones who actually for saw Renault racing in 2010!

USF1 are still around i wish to make that clear. and as many of you will know, i am probably likely to know. Yes it is not a definite that they will race the whole season. We at work are well aware of this annoying fact (they still owe us hundreds of thousands of pounds) But they have by no means given up on the project.

and as for campos. they are short of cash atm but the car is comign along nicely. unlikey they will test before the opener, but we are expecting to see them tthere. even if its in the pitlane or at best at the very back row of the grid until they find a gravel trap or sumin.

Lotus, looking very strong, the money is flowing well and so is the cars development, and virgin are pretty much there if not doing better than lotus. despite the apparent front wing trouble - does look like someone has either designed the fixing wrong, or not done up a bolt quite tight enough Razz

McLaren are concerned about the cars aero but are confident with its drivetrain and engine. Ferrari well are keeping themselves to themselves as always. BMW (and i will call them that cos they may aswell be) are also quiet and were not dealing with them as much in recent years so i dont have much news there. As for the rest we will just have to see. Smile

Also some inside trivia for you... Dog rings (some of you may know what these are) basically they are what directly hit and select gears in a sequential geabox, well we are supplying some teams (shouldnt say but theres one with a F, one with a M, and one with a W at the start of their names. along with the new teams) who all are running some that are 99.5% the same. and its not the only part that is like this Razz. So a spygate scandel was a lot of bollocks. they are all doing it but only one team got caught.

I shall keep you all informed as i hear.
