The age old battle with car fans… “New Skool vs Old Skool”, Which is best? Well Garry P’s 240Z shows that no battle is needed at all, and the results when these two worlds combine is explosive! Both in terms of performance, and to the minds of all who see it.



Built for the 2010 TORA Formula Drift Championship Garry’s Z is the result of his unique vision of an Old Skool based drift car with all the modern technology crammed into it to make for a sort of “240Z Remix”. Garry turned to Slider S15 and SBR Driftworks to build and setup the Z for him to hone his skills and compete in TFD 2010. The car was stripped and gutted for the ground up rebuild to begin.



At the heart of the rebuilt 240Z lies a brand new Nissan VQ37 V6 from a Nissan 370Z which was then Bored out to 4.1 litres and mated to a Supercharger to name but a few of the modifications under the Custom built Seibon carbon fibre bonnet.



The carbon fibre continues with the doors and the trick bolt-on over fenders.



To keep with the Old Skool vs New Skool theme the Z is Equipped with 16 inch Compomotive ML Alloy wheels in the front…..



And 17 inch Compomotive ML Alloys in the rear, all wrapped in sticky Falken Azenis RT615-K’s purposely developed for drifting and fast road use. A full racing brake setup helps to rein the Z back in if things start to go pear shaped and a full TEIN Race Suspension kit helps to stay in control when things get twisty (sideways or otherwise).



Garry P is really starting to flourish in this new car with scores improving vastly on every run. New Skool vs Old Skool? I think the real winner is Garry’s Z!
