Picture the scene… you’re the boss and owner of a successful tuning company and race team. Your company has gone from strength to strength bringing home Two world title after just over a year in high end competition. Any normal high end executive would buy himself a large German saloon car to waft around in, Right? Well Sam Billing is no ordinary Executive, and this is no ordinary German Saloon!



Sam’s C63 AMG was never destined to be a Lounge on wheels, munching up the miles surrounded by creature comforts. It was destined to become a full on Drift Machine to battle in The TORA Formula Drift Championship!



Powered by an SBR Modified version of the C63’s 6.2 Litre Supercharged V8 Sam’s Mercedes pushes out approximately 550bhp whilst deafening everybody in the surrounding area. A six speed Sequential Race box Shifts power to the rear wheels whilst allowing for almost infinite adjustments to the gear ratios.



To reduce the obviously high weight and lower the centre of gravity, a custom Carbon Fibre roof was made. This also helped SBR to boost the Chassis stiffness of the C63. Touches like this mark out the cars origins as a product of SBR’s Race preparation department rather than The SBR Driftworks.



The big Mercedes runs on 18” Gram Lights 57 Optimise Wheels shod in Sticky Falken Azenis RT615-K tires. The Brakes are the standard Mercedes Carbon Ceramic brake setup which is not only light but also surprisingly effective! A full Blistein Race Suspension setup keeps control at each corner of the big Merc with H&R Adjustable Anti-Roll Bars front and rear.



The SBR Boss and HRC Champion piloted the Mercedes to an impressive 4th place at TFD Round 1 narrowly missing out on the Podium after a close fight with XTI Avenger and his XTI Saleen Mustang. However Sam was slightly disappointed with this outcome and so after Round 1 the car was shipped back to the UK and to SBR Driftworks where it has been retuned ready for Round 2 at the end of the month.
