TORA ROC Event details and rules

Post by Chucky 1982 on Fri Dec 10, 2010 7:32 am

Race of Champions

16 Drivers, 15 Rounds, 1 Winner.

Welcome to the Race of Champions 2011 here at TORA

Here are the basics.

Taking part?

To be able to take part in this event you will need to have won a drivers championship or won a race in TORA in 2010. Which the results are public (only missing ones as of 20th December GT3, TRC, HRC, TCM) The list will be announced on 20th December. Also events such as winter DTM, Vtech challenge will not be included in the list. List is now at the bottom of this post

The cars

The Track

Silverstone National

Both cars will line up on the starting line facing each other on the starting grid. When the race timer reaches 0.30secs. Both cars will then race around the track one going the forward way and one going the reverse way. When you cross the start/finish line, there will be a car that you will have to go around to then go round the track in the opposite way.

So you will have to go round the track in both ways to complete 1 lap.

So in basic.

Cross the start line going forward round track, cross the start line after that lap turn round the car and then cross the start line to head in the reverse way around the track cross the finish line to finish the race this will be classed as one lap.

In the heats and quarter finals there will only be one race to advance to the next round.
In the semi finals, you will have to complete 2 laps (forward, back, forward, back) and only one race.
In the finals, you will have to compete in 2 laps and best out of 3 races to become the champion.
There will also be a shoot out race for third and forth place what will be 1 race 2 laps.

Here is a video of an example race, this will be a single lap format.

As this is the race of champions ALL assists will be switched to off.
Driving line – NO
Auto Brake - NO
TCS – NO
STS – NO
ABS – NO
Gears – Open choice
View – Open choice
No upgrades or tuning.

Collisions will be OFF
Damage will be set to SIMULATION
So you still have to be careful of the surroundings

The Date

Saturday 8th January 21:00GMT

There are only 16 spaces for this event if more drivers accept the invites then it will go down to who has won the most.

The following 12 drivers are confirmed drivers that have a spot

Hmm..

Still concerned if I will not be able to attend if held before 5pm (10pm uk time) on friday. I cannot leave work til 4:30pm, which will leave me with less than a 5 minute grace period (usually takes about 25 minutes to get home, sometimes longer with friday night traffic).

Wouldn't Saturday the 8th work better? Or is there already an event planned then?

When you replying to an invite request please state what nights you can attend, Friday 7th or Saturday 8th Jan, if you can attend both nights please say you can attend either,I would like to get the full 16. This will then be what night we will race and that will be announced on Monday 3rd Jan

Count me out mate. There's much more deserving people on that list than me. If you are struggling for numbers then I'll do it but put me down as reserve.
