Re: EZT Stockhatch Series 1 - Race 2: Tsukuba Circuit

Post by Rollin InAn STi on Tue Feb 08, 2011 2:44 pm

Was a bit disapointed with last nights race. There wasn't any major incidents but I was frustrated with myself and the amount of hatred I have for Tsukuba. The day or two after last weeks race I had gotten a comfortable setup for my Fit. I come back last night to get a little practice in before qually (and after), and it seemed that the setup changed by itself, and was having trouble on the corner exit of the 2nd hairpin. I'm sure the GLR guys in lobby C saw me struggling at that corner. It took a good part of last nights race to remember how to get through that corner right, but by that time, the race was almost over and too far behind r1ngmaster to catch him.

Only good thing for me, I was practicing at the 1:01.3's, but last night was able to land a 1:01.082. I'm kinda glad 1/2 of the Tsukuba events are out of the way this year (I have to stay in Japan for the ISCC race Sunday @ Tsukuba. I should go take in some sights this week before Sunday. Razz )

Hey Neo, I still have no internet or cable, so I was not able to race yet again. Mad Mad Mad

Sorry to let you down like this, but AT&T can't get their act together. I was supposed to be up and running on Sat. I really miss racing with you all !!!

After most of the field pitted, that left me in first since I had yet to pit. Solleft was behind me and catching me quickly due to my incompetence and his competence!!

Eventually I fell back to fourth as he, Flock, and--finally--Midnite Rider all passed me. Somehow I found my mojo again and was catching Midnite. My thumb was going numb which caused me to miss a shift on the Start/Finish straight when I was right behind him, thus falling back a bit.

Working hard again, caught up to him and was door handle-to-door handle--Midnite on the outside, I'm on the inside--going into T1. To both our disappointments, Midnite went wide there which put me in third. It was a great battle to that point. I really wanted to see who would win that battle!! Fun racing, Midnite!! cheers

Hope everyone else had as much fun and excitement!!

On to Suzuka!!

Switch make sure you always save your tunes. They move by themselves on my game. Even a .1 adjustment will throw a car out of wack. Just load the tune before every race or test session. The settings still move but it's just fractions in the springs. Like instead of .5 it will be .4 which isn't even selectable because they move in .5 increments

Yeah great fun there Neo, it was a BIG disappointment to be sucked into the dirt there. Oh well, there is always next week! I look forward to a rematch! Twisted Evil

Don't worry Worm. I save my setups. I forgot once or twice to save a tune I was working on (early in my FM carrer), loaded a pre-saved one an at that moment I realized I hadn't saved what I worked on. Everyone learns from their mistakes right? It just seemed the few days I hadn't practiced caused me to forget how to get through the 2nd hairpin fast/competatively. I'll take my finish and head to Suzuka

Ahh, patience is a virtue, my friend! Wink You missed out on the race by seven minutes. There was a late qualifier and, at the time, I was still taking times. We got started not too much past the top of the hour (21:00 local time).

I do think it's a little faster than some of the TORA event I have been in. Qualify at 15:00 and begin at 16:00. So, my advice is wait and you'll be rewarded for your patience. Wink
