We will still be running the first season through the game. If it doesn't live up to your expectations or you do not enjoy the game then do not race in the series.

I am going to cut the series down to 6 rounds and delay the start until the 17th of May. The game is released at the end of this month so this gives everyone the whole of April to either save up and buy the game if they are interested or save up within the game for the required cars if this is the case.

I will stress though that this series is being run using Shift 2. If you are not getting Shift 2 or are hesitant then simply don't look into racing in it and race in the ISCC or the next season of the GTs, both of which will be run using Forza 3.

Possibly - FM4 is an unknown quantity as yet. The FM3 option was OK, but was a fair compromise on various balance issues, which should be much better on Shift 2. Don't forget that aside from Tuesdays and Sundays, any other night can have a community run series, so if you want to do something on FM3, that's your chance.

How about this:

TORA will be running our GT1 series through Shift 2.

If anybody from the community is keen enough feel free to take my rules for the Forza 3 GT1 Championship and form a community series out of it. In fact, you could probably improve upon my rules and run it in parallel with the TORA series on a Wednesday night or something.

I, personally, was looking forward to the GT1 series seeing as I testing all the cars and wrote the rules and regs for the season. I pushed to have a GT1 series this year. But doing it this way, using Shift 2, makes sense for us.

Why are we speaking of unbalanced cars and unknown quantities? Shift 2 isn't even out yet, no one knows a thing about it yet either. Let alone car testing to ensure they are balanced.

i will reserve judgment on the game until it is out and can be properly given a once over.

"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”

personally i think we should have kept the series ran on Forza but only have it as a 3 or 4 event series and then run another GT1 series on Shift 2 later in the year when more people have it

All I'll say Worm is that how on earth could it NOT be a more balanced carlist in S2U with an official GT1 carlist with potentially our paints on it.

i have to agree with nick, we should have waited till the game was out, and still had the forza 3 verison inplace. Then let Shift 2 come out, see what it was like, ie how the lobbys work, if cars really are balanced, etc.

Doesnt anyone remember what a let down Race Pro was when it 1st came out??? Ok yes it got fixed but it lost a lot of interest.

The best thing to do is to run the Fm3 verison on a commuity night and if Shift 2 is that good, im sure they will move over to the shift 2 one.

The cars are known in FM3 and you can test them to make them even. Shift 2 isn't even out yet, how are you going to test those and make them even?

You dont have to test them!!
They are THE GT1 Championship cars. They are programmed to be even.

We have all played the same old Forza to death! Its a cool idea jumping into the unknown like this. High five to TORA!

I'd much rather be blasting around Spa and Bathurst thankyou very much! What ever happened to enthusiasm? Why does everyone have to be so sensible and realistic?

Until someone tunes them and finds little niches and one car is faster than the rest. It's like that in every game. I'm sure they programmed SHIFT 1 to not suck. Just saying.

I've preordered it again, but the logic here of things being even isn't right.

1. No one here has played it.
2. They never have been with any game I've ever played. Be it the guns in Call of Duty or Battlefield to the cars in a racing game.

People aren't stupid, these factors were obviously taken into consideration when it was decided, and it was decided, that as GT1 was a new series, and that Forza already has ISCC (GT Class) and GT3, that the GT1 series really had nothing to lose by trying it out on Shift 2.

If it doesn't work, the rules are still there for Forza.

I may also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Race Pro has a good number of evenly matched GT1 cars Wink
