Laguna Seca Pitlane Enquiry

Post by JeffH16 on Sat Aug 13, 2011 11:25 am

In the ISCC race on Sunday, are we expected to follow the pit-lane exit all the way to the exit of the Andretti Hairpin or are we expected to leave on the main straight/inside of turn 1? just thought I'd clarify as I have been doing the former throughout my practice sessions, and figured there may be other people wondering as well

Good question dude -

Ok for the ISCC on Sunday you can use the main straight / inside of turn 1 as I and the rest of the lobby hosts will not go through every replay to make sure ppl left the pits proppley.

If every 1 know you can leave the pits on the main straight thats fine Smile Smile

The Usual exit not the "supplemental" bit of tarmac that leads the cars out AFTER the andretti hairpin, turn 1 would appear to be the kink immediately after the start-finish line.

Ok, thanks. Everyone must exit pit lane prior to the hard double left hander at the bottom of the hill. I don't know their names Embarassed

i would much rather use the extra 'tarmac' and exit after the andretti hairpin rather than trying to blend in with traffic entering said hairpin. last thing i want to do is throw a prototype driver off their racing line when im coming back on track

Agreed, plus it takes extra care and could give a driver the advantage if done properly and a compettitor misses a little and catches a tire in the dirt.

Agreed. If you tell everyone to not take the inside tarmac you would have the potential problem of having a car moving into the racing line with cars coming full speed down the front stretch. I have been practicing the long pit exit for just that reason.

I think you can use either for preference. If you join before turn 1, just follow TORA rules (which you should anyways) and state you gamertag and that you exiting the pits, as you should for entering them too.

As I said before you can use the exit on the main straight and like Simon said you always must call out when exit and entering the pits.

Dont know about anyone else but if i use all the tarmac and stay in the outlane all the way round i get 1 sec quicker than if i join the race track early before the main corner.

I hadn't timed it, but am gonna stick to rejoining after the Andretti hairpin, don't want to blend into anyone as others have mentioned
