Sep 18th - ALMS R3 (ISCC R12) Sunset Peninsula Reverse 1hr

Post by SelectiveRogue on Wed Sep 14, 2011 1:26 pm

Event Itinerary

All races will take place on Sundays @ 20:00 BST.
Please make sure you are online on Forza Motorsport 3 and you have checked that you have no connection issues 10 minutes before the meeting is due to get under way.
Please make sure you have a open NAT setting.
You will receive a invite from your lobby host around 20:00 Hours BST.

Race Format

Qualifying

qualifying 15 min. with colisions on, make your own space and run how ever many laps and dirty laps will count and not penalize you.

Race 1 (Round 2)

1Hour

-Lobbies will be mixed with 4 cars from each class. (ex. lobby one = 4 P1 cars and 4 P2 Cars, lobby two =4 P2 Cars and 4 GT2 Cars and lobby three will be 4 P1 Cars and 4 GT2 Cars)

The grid will be ordered as per qualifying times.
The grid will form up in race order on the parade lap, this will be instructed by the lobby captain and then the race will start by a rolling start. Cars will stay at 100mph on the parade lap until a pre-determined location where all cars will drop to 60mph and line up side-by-side in a rolling grid. Once you pass the pit entrance the pole sitter can shout "go". Once "go" is called cars may accelerate past 60mph, though there can be no overtaking until the start and finish line.
1 mandatory pit stop must be made during the race, you can exit the pits on the main straight.

-With mixed lobbies comes greater risk of accidents, it is imperative that the faster cars take the needed steps to ensure a clean pass, slower cars you are to race your line, and it is up to the faster cars to find a way around, DON'T try to help them by moving over, because you may just be moving over into their path.

Last Time out -

As the ISCC rolled into Road America for the 2nd round of the ISCC ALMS series, a 20 mulitclass entry list emerged with the P2 field remaing healthy and a welcome return to Aero Dynamics lead driver WWR Aero in the Lola B09/86- Jaguar P1.

Qualifying began with what as many drivers from the P1 catgeogry would call a benchmark time of 1.40.336 set by the P1 Jaguar of WWR Aero, with Aeros rival almost a second off the pace a battle for 2nd in P1 would be the biggest factor in P1. P2 saw M&M driver SelectiveRogue setting the pace in the power restricted RS Spyder. GT saw F4H Carrera driving the Jaguar XKR-RSR grab pole ahead of CMGraphix privateer Nissan 350Z.

A great start by WWR Aero saw him grab a early lead over his team mate AudiSport Louis who for the rest of the race held off VVV Micko in the Audi R15 who never gave up all race, trying to pass the prowling cat. P2 saw SelectiveRogue and gen3ral ts0 drove ahead of the rest of the P2 field, however a great start by M&M's 3rd driver Ianmr saw him jump ahead of the rest of P2, this however did not see an end to a P2 battle, a great interteam battle between Stonewall458 and culchi developed which went down right to the wire.

GT saw early retirements by lead drivers F4H Carrera and Rollin InAn STi with mechanical failures. CMGraphix then opended up a dominate gap over FranchittiFan and a welcome return to Porsche factory driver nickyf1.P1 driver DAN 2605 retired in the Lola B09/60- Aston Martin with a gear box issue, while the Peugeot of iZ GunDaM had a troubled run with turbo and aero issues affecting the French team.
Results

P1 WWR Aero (1h00m29s)
P1 AudiSport Louis (+26 seconds)
P1 VVV Micko (+28 seconds)

P2 SelectiveRogue (+1 lap)
P2 gen3ral ts0 (+1 lap)
P2 Ianmr (+2 laps)
P2 Stonewall458 (+2 laps)

GT2 CM Graphix (+6 laps)
PpR YT RICE (+6 laps)
GT2 FranchttiFan (+6 laps)

Dan 2605 - "Tapped the wall on the start/finish straight six minutes in and I was trying to cope with oversteer. Iz GunDam will tell you about my spin as a consequence of the damage I suffered. Its very rare for me to lose the car at all. Roll on the next race. At least I won't have a power handicap where-as my main rivals will, so I'll make the most of the next race if I can"
culchi - "Omg that race was amazing was swapping with stonewall for the last 3 laps finally got some space on the last lap. And ran wide into the sand on the final corner"
Ianmr - "M&M 1,2,3 Again.....two for two so far in LMP2"

In, but I need to sort out the car desperately. It is just crap round the corners, and I can't get any better than a 1.14.

I'll practice with you later tonight Johnny. I think the low downforce set-up I provided isn't working for you.

About 7:30pm. We might practice for over an hour to try and find you the right set-up. I'm a little rusty as well as I haven't touched the Lola Aston for a couple of weeks.

You guys go on ahead. I am so shattered to be honest mate. Back at school and it has just taken it out on me. I keep getting little dizzy spurts where I am so tired. Sorry guys, I will be on hopefully tomorrow.

Need a clarification on something.

On pit exit, should we exit just before the curve or should we take the flat section all the way to the infield?

"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”
