General Race Rules and Regulations

Post by AudiSport Louis on Sat 12 Nov - 12:52

-LMP Classes (LMP and LMPC) are open to all competitors, however those who are in LMP that cause to many accidents or show carelessness in your driving (I.E. not respecting your fellow competitors) you will be required to step down into LMPC and participate in a minimum of 3 races in that class. Once the 3 races are complete you may apply to return to LMP if you wish or stay in the class. Applications can be made to ISCC Co-ordinator's (Louis or Conner) where they will be reviewed by all staff.

-any assists allowed with Simulation handling and damage.

Qualifying-

- Qualifying will consist of a 15 minute long session, there will be a 5 car roll off delay as to create space between drivers.

-Tsukuba Qualy will be a "split lobby" qualifying session where half of a lobby will qualify at a time so the track does not get over crowded (example- if there are 16 cars in the qualifying lobby 8 cars will ready up and have their 15 minute qualifying session, upon completion of the first half of the lobby the other 8 will ready up and qualify.)

-Dirty laps will not count against you, If you out pace someone who has a clean time to you're dirty lap, you will be placed ahead.

-Rolling starts

-Mandatory 2 stops per race. The first stop must be made in the first 30 minutes of the race, the second can be made anytime after the first stop is completed. Failure to adhere to the rule will result in a 1 lap penalty that will be taken from drivers finishing distance.

-Slower cars (Those who are going down a lap to any car in any class) are to hold their racing line. Do NOT move over for the faster cars as you may be moving over into their path. Faster cars are to find their way around the slower cars. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in the following penalties.

1st offense- warning
2nd offense- 1 lap penalty that will be taken from drivers finishing distance.
3rd offense- Exclusion from the race.

-For finishing on the podium drivers will recieve a 10 second penaty at the next race. Unlike last year where it was capped at 15% power for any car, this penalty is accumalative for every race and does not have a cap. (example- If a driver finishes on the podium 3 times in a row they will have 30 seconds added to their time.) finishing off the podium will wipe out the entire penalty.

To serve this penalty- The top 3 from the previous race must serve said penalty at the first pitstop, upon arival to your pit stall the driver shall hit pause. (it is this action that does not allow the car to move once the pit stop is completed) Upon the sound of the jacks dropping the car at the end of the pit stop, the driver shall wait until their time penalty has been served before unpausing (where the car will then start to move out of the pitlane). The replays will be reviewed where if a driver does not serve their penalty, they will have double of their penalty added to their finish time. (example- If a driver had 20 second time penalty to serve durring the race, 40 seconds will be added to their finish time.)

I just have one question.
Do you feel that it's too soon to run this series? I'm just worried that we would have too many series run at the same time and we haven't had Forza 4 for very long.
As much as I am looking forward to the ISCC, I think January 2012 would be the idea time to start another season of the ISCC championship.

We're trying to test out the new set of rules and make sure the cars are balanced. It's better to get this done now so that the staff knows what to fix than to have hundreds of complaints during the season of 'My car's too slow' or 'How is ____ going so fast?' etc.

If thats the case, instead of running the asian leg, why not just simply run a press day or a similar testing session where everyone participating in the ISCC can run at the same time to evaluate where their performance is at as well as the cars?

Because cars that are balanced for normal ISCC tracks may not necessarily be balanced at Le Mans.

And also because it'd be really hard to get EVERY entrant of the ISCC to do a test day.

In the past, Qualifying has been a timed session, TCS and Racing Line have been allowed, and Damage has been on.

If you have a mutiscreen setup, trying to race with someone who doesn't ready up in the lobby will cause the multiscreen user to lock up. I have a multiscreen setup and it does it everytime.

this will probably change now that we have colisions off now, and will probably have the "split lobby" go into another lobby to save time.

If I can make a comment about allowing uncertified laps.

An uncertified lap is something that is very irritating to any Forza driver. In qualifying, uncertifying the previous lap within the last segment will uncertify the next lap. Very lame, but it has a reason. In Forza 2, people would draft up to the start finish line with another driver. This doesn't happen now, unless you have collisions on and allow uncertified laps.

In qualifying in the past, you guys have had collisions on, for realism, but the uncertified lap thing is totally unrealistic and you can't turn it off, so you have allowed "dirty" laps to count towards qualifying. This has always troubled me, because I know what kind of lap times can come from drafting.

In this version of the ISCC, collisions are turned off. I think we should only allow certified laps. In all honesty, you guys aren't watching the replays prior to the race starting and a driver could be cutting corners, and you won't be able to catch it unless you are physically behind the driver when he does it. I don't know of anyone here that would do that, but I also don't know everyone here very well. Requiring a certified lap for qualifying is a good thing, it will improve everyone's driving, and ensure there is absolutely no cheating.

I hope this is received well, I have been fearful of repricussions and have never posted this in this detail in the past. Hopefully this is a better place now than when I first had this opinion here.

Thanks.

We run the 'certified' rule in most of our other series, but it's up to the series co-ordinators what they want to do with the setup of their series.
