TORA MSA ISCC Asia Round 3 - Motegi 3/12/11 - 8PM GMT

Post by ATR DAN on Fri Dec 02, 2011 11:29 pm

Here we are folks. I assume that the TORA staff are extremely busy which is understandable. So here's the entry thread for tomorrows race.

Qualifying-

- Qualifying will consist of a 15 minute long session, there will be a 5 second per car roll off delay as to create space between drivers.

-Dirty laps will not count against you, If you out pace someone who has a clean time to you're dirty lap, you will be placed ahead.

-Rolling starts

-Mandatory 2 stops per race. The first stop must be made in the first 30 minutes of the race, the second can be made anytime after the first stop is completed. Failure to adhere to the rule will result in a 1 lap penalty that will be taken from drivers finishing distance.

-Slower cars (Those who are going down a lap to any car in any class) are to hold their racing line. Do NOT move over for the faster cars as you may be moving over into their path. Faster cars are to find their way around the slower cars. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in the following penalties.

1st offense- warning
2nd offense- 1 lap penalty that will be taken from drivers finishing distance.
3rd offense- Exclusion from the race.

If need be, I'll help to run the event seeing as we're missing a few staff members at the London Gaming Con. Wink

Not many names signed up for tonight. Sad
However, if you are racing tonight and haven't signed up on the forums, please send either myself, Conner (Stonewall458) or Mark (Rollin InAn STi) a message via xbox live and we'll invite you into the respective qualifying lobbies tonight.

Cheers everyone and I wish you well for the race which is an hour and twenty minutes away. Wink

Well, I think we should invite chaddy anyway, because of low turn out.

i'm sure he'll be on his best behavior

Can I just thank all of those who managed to turn up to the race meeting despite the very few we had this evening. Cheers guys.

Also, commiserations once again to GLRmikem who must be the unluckiest driver we've ever had here in TORA. Once again, his Fanatec wheel decided to pack up during the race. That was really unfortunate dude. It's not often that I get really speechless, but I was certainly stunned when I discovered that he had issues once again with his wheel. Thats also really odd for a Fanatec wheel to malfunction at all nevermind twice in two weeks.
But Mikem deserved to win that race even more than myself. Even without my 20 second pit penalty, I still wouldn't have been able to keep up with him. Fingers crossed next time that all wil be sucessful for him.

I would like to congratulate F4H Carrera and Duke of Bruno for their respective class wins tonight. And last but not least, to my team mate Ben who has finally scored a podium finish in the series. Great job tonight mate. Very Happy

I was extremely fortunate to win tonight to be honest, but it's nice that the race went without a hitch becuase I didn't get much chance this week to practice for this round.

Roll on Le Mans. I for one cannot wait. cheers

Well, even though there were no other in my class it was still a good race. My goal was to not put a scratch on my car and that is what I managed to do.

1st class win for the BRG Jag in its 1st TORA race! cheers

Well, at long damn last!

Well, Im not gonna lie: I badly wanted to make it a 1-2 with Dan during the dying moments of the first race. But still, it is what it is, and 3rd on the first time out in Motegi is quite an honour.

wish i had more grunt in my Oreca FLM, but after my 10-second-extended pit stop, it took me clean out of the competition. near the end when Keonigsegg took his 2nd stop i was under 300ft behind him going into turn 1, so i tried to put the hammer down to keep up or try to catch him, but the carpel tunnel was wrecking havok on my grip of the controller and i started making small mistakes, in which case i began slipping back. s'ok, at least for LeMans, i do not have to worry about the added pit-time.

...i've got a MS wheel, but last time i used it, it was down shifting on its own (TASCAR race @ the Benchmark Oval), so ive been hesitant to use it again, and get more accustomed to using a wheel

Yeah, was pushing to catch you, but made to many mistakes. When you made your 2nd pitstop I could finally push without mistakes. Untill I spun my car and lost about 300 to 400 metres. Would have been close if I didn't spin.

Thanks Carrera and Chrisupra for turning up.

Another race ruined by Fanatec. Some great advertising huh.
As a plus, I'm great friends now with the repairman.
