Quick Question regarding Sim Steering

Post by SelectiveRogue on Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:48 pm

Hey all,
A quick question I would like to propose a gauge reaction from our community.

For our 2012 championships would you like to see forced ON simulation steering, I know a majority of our members race with this ON but I want to know your thoughts regarding simulation steering?

This is just a question at the momment so please debate Very Happy Very Happy

By way sorry I have not been in as many races as I would of liked, 2 month year old is having a impact on my racing, but fear I shall be back Very Happy Very Happy

I personally don't mind, ultimately it's an assist and is a choice. If it was forced off and would make more people happy and take it more seriously then I am fine. I would say don't force it off, although we do say force off ABS, Auto Gears and STM which people have learned to drive with even although the complained about it at first.

Maybe you could do half and half, force off for the major series ISCC, GTs etc, but for the more casual and newbie people could have the option of on like TCC and the low range spec series

Sim Steering should be a choice. It doesn't effect those with wheels, and it doesn't really help or hinder performance. It's down to personal preference.

Sim Steering for the Mazda MX-5s is a must...

I think the argument should be to clutch or not to clutch...

Sim steering might not make much of a difference to wheel users, but it does change a lot for those of us who use controllers.

Hey all,

After a recent publication by Fanatec, Normal Steering and Simulation steering will be optional, Fanatec found that the simulation steering mode is nothing like simulation steering you find in advance PC simulators and to be frank should have been called drift mode.

Because the Simulation steering mode does not work with advance wheels such as the official Forza 4 CSR wheels, hopefully Turn 10 are working on a patch in order to enable Fanatec users to use sim steering but until they do normal steering and simulation steering are optional across all TORA races.
