What if one of my team mates cannot take part in bump day because he has to work? Are private sessions ahead of qualifying a thing for this event?

If Qualifying is called Bump Day, does that mean only 33 will get to actually run. Or will you let all possibly 80+ entrants run like Louis did, and only score the top 33.

And if only 32/33 drivers get to race then why does the qualifying thread not state that.

Everyone can race. I will clarify that before qualifying, don't worry!

I have a hypothetical question concerning finishing positions etc: you say only the top 33 qualifiers can win - what would happen if due to unforeseen circumstances the highest finishing position for someone who qualified was only10th overall? Would they still be classed as the winner due to qualifying? Or would that constitute an exceptional circumstances scenario? Doesn't really affect me as I'll be propping up the grid keeping out of everyone's way! Just suddenly struck me as it would seem a bit harsh for the overall winner not being able to bask in glory due to missing out on bump day by 0.001 of a second or something for arguments sake

Said situation can't happen as only the results from the top 33 are actually counted up iirc. Rest of the lobbies are more of a fun thing, and I believe also include cautions in the lower lobbies. Doubt this situation would happen though since it's on Fuel/Tyres only, meaning no one will truly wreck out of the race.

Ah okay that makes sense! Thanks! I think if it was part of a championship season and anyone can win, but only the top 33 qualifiers are eligible for points that would clear up confusion - kinda like how Le Mans is with WEC entries and non-WEC entries. Just my opinion though haha!

6th Annual TORA INDY 500 - General Discussion Empty last minute rule change (100ft start distance)

Post by DARK l MATTER on Sun 24 May 2020 - 22:24

Darkzer - thanks for running the show and putting in all the work, organizing, videos with special effects, etc.

But I have to ask - why the last minute rule change? Some of us (like me) read the rules and expect things to be a certain way. Changing the 100ft gap at the start, in a race with aero-spinning, changed the outcome of the race. Unfortunately I was muted in the party for the entire race, so my expressed surprise before we started was not heard.

Thanks man, a shame you weren't part of the battle this time but hopefully you'll be back up there next year! Took a massive team effort to make this one possible
